Boiler Fault During Cold Weather

We have experienced many calls today regarding boilers not working. A quick and handy tip in the cold weather is to check the condensate pipe from your boiler. This is the white pipe that comes out the bottom of your boiler and goes outside. In cold weather such as today, this condensate pipe may freeze causing the boiler to make loud noises and go to fault mode. It will not come on after being reset.

If you carefully pour warm water over the pipe it will gradually defrost and you will see ice drop out of the bottom. Once this has been cleared, you can reset your boiler and get back up and running.

This may not be the cause for every fault mode, but worth a check if you are struggling to get a call out at this busy time.
